What's That On My Face!

What's that on my face? It's a paper mask!

This month in my IPSY.com glam bag I received these paper masks. I waited till this weekend to try them out so that if I had a reaction I would have the weekend for my face to recover! lol

I tend to have oily skin so I used the Purifying Star Fruit. It is to purify and help control oil. The Blue Agave is for hydration and the Rose is for brighter skin.

So step one is to wash your face with your regular cleanser.

I use Mary Kay Timewise 3 in 1 cleanser for oily to combination skin. I have been using it for two years now and it is the best cleanser I have tried. Like ever.

Step two, unfold the mask and peel paper from the liner and discard. It is very wet and floppy once you remove it from the liner.

Step three, apply to face and smooth out. This thing looks like something from a horror movie! The eye holes are weirdly close together. It does stay on very well till time to remove. It says to keep on for five to ten minutes. I think I left mine on for five.

The last step is to remove the mask and throw away.

Now your first natural response would be to wash your face. Ehh wrong! Don't wash your face! The product will seep into your skin after a few minutes of having the mask off. It is kind of sticky feeling for a while (as you can probably tell in my picture below). So if you plan on doing this, I would do it when you aren't planning on going anywhere for a while. Bed time might be the best option.

I can't really tell you if they work or not. I will tell you, my daughter and I had fun trying it out! Do you have any beauty products that you use on a regular basis? I would love to hear what you use!

Ipsy Glam Bag September

This month's theme was Classic Beauty.

I was excited about this month! The bag was a beautiful blue (my favorite color!) . Here is a picture of the bag and all the items.

I opened it up and the first thing I tried was the lip balm by Cailyn Cosmetics. It comes in a very cool package. The balm is in the bottom and there is a applicator brush in the top. It goes on so smooth! It packs a powerful punch of color with using very little product. It was actually a little surprising for a "balm". Mine was in the Big Apple shade. I'm not sure if it's right for me. But here is a picture for you to see!

I was really happy to get a full size eye liner! It's made by Starlooks and came in the color Obsidian. The name even sounds cool! These are famous for being a great pencil for that smoky eye look. This pencil is goes on smooth because it is creamier than most liners.  I wore it to work today and it didn't smear or even flake off like my normal brand. I love it! Very happy with this!

The mascara was a little bit of a disappointment. I received a mascara last month in my bag and they always seem to come in trial size. This one is Elizabeth Mott, It's So Big Volumizing Mascara. I says to use several layers to get more volume. I only used one layer today because I was going to work. It does define each lash and it didn't flake or wear off throughout the day. Depending on the price I might be willing to buy a full size.

I also received a full size eye shadow. It is by NYX. The shade is called Fantasy. The color is awesome! It is a gold color with a little shimmer.  I will be honest, I would have rather had the grey but I might just hop over and buy it with my 30% code that comes with this months bag!

Last but not least were the Freeman Beauty Facial Paper Mask. There were three different ones. I have not tried these yet. My skin can be temperamental, so I am saving these for the weekend and I will make a separate post on them. I'm including a picture to hold you guys over till then!

As an added bonus they included an actual size card with Michelle Phan The Life Palette. It shows what the palette looks like and even has a mini sample on the bottom. It is a little out of my price range but I did go check it out and maybe if they gave us a coupon I would consider investing it it!

QUAKER BACK TO SCHOOL

A BzzAgent post.

Being part of Bzzagent.com gives me the opportunity to try and review items that I might not other wise try. Recently I was able to be part of the QUAKER BACK TO SCHOOL campaign. They sent a box full of different snacks for me and my family to try out. I was excited for this one. The whole family gets to help me out with trying the snacks!

First out of the box was the Popped Cheddar Cheese. The kids liked them a lot. I think they tasted very similar to cheese puffs. Took me back to my days as a kid! lol

Then there is the Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies. There are seven packs of 4 cookies. They are not too crunchy but definitely not uncrunchy. I like them ok. I am not really into peanut butter cookies. The kids love them though!

Third was the Real Medleys, Peach Almond Multigrain fruit and nut bar. These are awesome! I have not shared these at all. I take one every day to work as a mid morning snack. It holds me over till lunch. I normally don't like nut bars, but these are great with the peach to soften the nut flavor. I will be getting more of these!

Last but not least the Oatmeal Squares. They are good. I like the brown sugar flavor. I don't know if I would buy it again. I guess it depends on the price per size package. Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad. I just like my Honey Bunches of Oats!

They also sent some awesome coupons to go with it! The coupons are for everything in the box and also some things that weren't in the box to try. I might be trying more Quaker stuff in the near future!

So there you go. I think it was a pretty cool campaign. I would love to see more like this one in the future!
