Ipsy Glam Bag October ~ November

Ipsy Glam Bag

October and November

I'm going to be honest here. I haven't been very excited about the glam bags the past couple of months. It makes me sad because I was enjoying them so much in the beginning. It's not just the products, because to be honest if the products were better I wouldn't mind the shipping so much. Yeah, the shipping is horrible. It normally takes about a week and a half for my bag to get to me and they ship from IN my state!

So anyway, enough complaining. Here is what I received in October's glam bag.

La Fresh oil free face cleanser wipes.

I tried these a couple of times and I wasn't really happy with these cleansing wipes. They didn't really clean very well. They kind of left my face feeling like it had a film on it. I like that they are mostly all natural and not tested on animals. However that doesn't do me much good if my face isn't getting clean.

Sexy Hair blow dry gel.

This was a pretty good product. I don't really have any complaints. If you like Big Sexy Hair products they usually have buy one get one deals. I already have a blow dry product so this one will be a back up. This was a trial size.

Coastal Scents medium shadow brush.

This brush is super soft! I saw a lot of people were excited about this product. I was pretty happy it came in my bag. I usually buy brushes in multi packs so it was really nice to get to try a more high end brush.

Wet n Wild eyeshadow

I wish I had more time to be adventurous and play around with my look. I love these colors! They are very Fall! I was surprised to see Wet n Wild in my glam bag. But this product was full size and I am looking forward to trying it out sometime for date night.

Zoya nail polish

I saved this for last because this is the product I was excited about! It came in the color I wanted and I painted my nails as soon as I had a chance! I love Zoya polish! It takes less coats than other nail polishes and they have great colors!

November

Novembers bag was the usual nail polish, lip crayon, eye liner, bronzer or blush bag. I'll get more into the products on a one product at a time basis.

Be A Bombshell lip crayon.

This lip crayon goes one smooth and has great pigment. I wasn't very excited about the color. I have had a really hard time finding a lip color that I like. So I won't blame Ipsy for this one.

Pixi Beauty Bronzer

I'm not really picky about the bronzer. I have received a few in my glam bags and I haven't really used them up yet. I will just add this one to the collection!

Nailtini nail color.

I like this polish! I actually just tried it on a nail so that I could review it. I am so glad that I did! It is a bronze glitter shimmer color. Great for the holiday season! This bag just got way better!! I am a new Nailtini fan!

TRESemme' hairspray.

This is trial size. I am confused why Ipsy chose this product for the bag. It smells like hairspray. It holds like hairspray. Nothing special. I feel like this is more of a filler product.

Starlooks eye pencil

I have to play around with this one and see what I can do with it. I have never been that into color eye shadow. I usually just go for black. I will get back to you on this one once I get a real chance to find a look. The color is a metallic silver and goes on really smooth. It rubbed off my hand really easily, so it might not last long on. We will see!

EM Michelle Phan

I like to save my favorite product for last. That way I can end on a good note. I was really excited to see a EM Michelle Phan product in my glam bag! After the September bag intro to the product brand I have wanted to try their products. They are a little expensive for me but I really like this balm!

So maybe I was a little harsh at the beginning of this blog. I wasn't excited about the products but after trying them I am happier! Maybe I'll hold on to my subscription a bit longer!

Trying To Eat Healthier?

Well I am too! It's a hard thing to do! You have to retrain your brain and your body to a whole new life style. I have tried quite a few recipes from Pinterest and other places on the internet. One of which was Baked Parmesan Chicken. I have cooked this one a few times and altered the recipe a bit for my taste. Homemade bread crumbs are a great alternative to the usual listed pre-made ones. The store bought ones are riddled with additives that are unnecessary. Here are the other items that I used.

Extra virgin olive oil
Here is a link to the benefits of it

Newman's Own Marinara
I always buy Newman's because of the charity and it's all natural. here is the porduct page and a way to view the charity.

Smart Balance non-stick spray. It is the healthiest I have been able to find.

I served mine over a bed of baby spinach and a side of  home made mashed potatoes.

Road Trip! Corn Maze!

This weekend we took a road trip to Clinton NC. They have a corn maze/ festival out there! They had a lot of cool stuff to do for kids. They also have a haunted corn maze for older kids and adults but we didn't stay for that.

We got there a few minutes before they opened. There was a small crowd of people who showed up early like us. We purchased the unlimited play pass for the kids and the general admission plus maze pass for the adults.

Me and my wrist band!

We opted to do some family photos with the great displays around first.

All the kids!

All the kids!

Madison and Anthony!

Anthony, Jimmy, Me, and Madison

Jimmy's Mom, Dad, and nieces.

We let the kids play for a little while before doing the maze. They did the slide that had the burlap sacks to slide down on.

Then the kids bounced on the monster jump pillow.

After that they talked me into tickets for the laser tag. Only a couple of the play areas were pay per play. The kids have wanted to play laser tag for a while so I let them :) They split the kids up boys against girls (unfair) but the girls had numbers on their side. In the end the boys triumphed!

Madison got out lol

Anthony getting ready.

Madison peeking.

The boys won!

The smaller kids wanted to ride the barrel train. They had a lot of fun!

They had this hill that the kids could play on with ropes to climb up. This was a big hit with the kids. Every time the kids disappeared I found them on that hill lol

Finally we did the maze, which was so much fun! They have three different mazes. The first one is a kid maze. It's almost impossible to get lost in this one. They give you a game card and they have clues along the maze. There are also check points that the kids stick their fingers in for different colors. The little ones had fun coloring their fingers!

The second and third maze sections were part of a bigger game card. You have to find all the check points where they have different shaped hole punches. Half in the second maze and the other half in the third. Did I mention that the maze looks like a dinosaur from above?

If you collect all the check points then you get to ring the bell and enter into a give away for awesome prizes! My kids did these with us but the younger kids played in the play ares with the other adults.

I think this was one point where I was briefly lost.

I was the navigator and we found ALL of the check points! I am waiting for my call for my prize!

Anthony ringing the bell.

Me ringing the bell.

My finished card!

Before we headed home we took a quick tour on the hay ride.

Then we decided to stop for some Applebee's on the way home.

I had so much fun! It was a nice little getaway and a great excuse to get out of the house to have some fun! I am so happy that we were able to go and take the kids!

Here is a link to the website for more info if you are local to me. I believe this goes on past Halloween! So if you get a chance you still have a couple of weeks to get down there!

Sunday Social

SocialSundayButton3

This is my first Sunday Social! I saw this one over at:

She has a wonderful blog about fitness, nutrition and make-up! I love it! You guys should check it out!

So let's get this started!

1.What is the first blog you ever followed?
The first blog I ever followed was by Kandee Johnson . She is one of the best at what she does in my opinion. I learned a lot from her Youtube channel!

2.What was your first blog post about?
My first blog post was an introduction post. It was a "hello" to my readers. It is linked up at the top of my blog in the "about me" tab.

3. Who left your first blog comment?
My first comment was from my friend Sarah from over at With Dirt On Our Face. She has been a huge help with getting my blog up and running!

4. Who was the first blogger you ever met in person?
No one yet. I actually don't know anyone who blogs besides people I interact with online. Maybe someday?

5. What was our first blog milestone?
I would have to day keeping it going! I took a break for a while. Getting new followers isn't as easy as you think. It felt like I was blogging for nothing. Eventually I started thinking that maybe I should blog for myself. If people follow, that is one big added bonus!

That is it! Five easy questions! Please feel free to leave a comment with your blog link! I would love to stop by and read!

So Busy!

First of all, thank you to all my new readers! Second....of all, sorry that it may take me a while to reply to blog comments. I have been super busy the past two weeks!

Last weekend was Riverfest. Saturday morning we took some stuff over and piggy backed on a friend's yard sale. Later we took the kids down to Riverfest and they did the Pirate Treasure hunt.

The way it works is pretty simple. You go to the starter place and pick up a map. Then you walk down to each of the stores listed and they hand out prizes. They got eye patches and free ice cream. Plus lots of other neat stuff. It is totally free and it is a lot of fun!

In addition to all that, they have street venders, a children's area with bouncy houses and inflatable slides. There was even a lumber jack contest.

It is a really great way to get out of the house and not spend anything. That is unless you want too! We all had a lot of fun!

Sunday was dedicated to laundry, house cleaning, and meal planning for the next two weeks.  I work 9 1/2 hours Monday through Thursdays for a half day on Friday. By the time I get home from work, cook dinner, check the kids homework and all that fun stuff, I just have enough time for my work out and bed time!

I hope to be able to start up a weekly or bi weekly post with dinner ideas with recipes and my workouts and progress. I just hope to find the time! This weekend we are taking the kids to a corn maze about an hour away. It isn't free but it does sound like a cool thing to do! I'll take my real camera this time!
