Ipsy Glam Bag October ~ November

Ipsy Glam Bag

October and November

I'm going to be honest here. I haven't been very excited about the glam bags the past couple of months. It makes me sad because I was enjoying them so much in the beginning. It's not just the products, because to be honest if the products were better I wouldn't mind the shipping so much. Yeah, the shipping is horrible. It normally takes about a week and a half for my bag to get to me and they ship from IN my state!

So anyway, enough complaining. Here is what I received in October's glam bag.

La Fresh oil free face cleanser wipes.

I tried these a couple of times and I wasn't really happy with these cleansing wipes. They didn't really clean very well. They kind of left my face feeling like it had a film on it. I like that they are mostly all natural and not tested on animals. However that doesn't do me much good if my face isn't getting clean.

Sexy Hair blow dry gel.

This was a pretty good product. I don't really have any complaints. If you like Big Sexy Hair products they usually have buy one get one deals. I already have a blow dry product so this one will be a back up. This was a trial size.

Coastal Scents medium shadow brush.

This brush is super soft! I saw a lot of people were excited about this product. I was pretty happy it came in my bag. I usually buy brushes in multi packs so it was really nice to get to try a more high end brush.

Wet n Wild eyeshadow

I wish I had more time to be adventurous and play around with my look. I love these colors! They are very Fall! I was surprised to see Wet n Wild in my glam bag. But this product was full size and I am looking forward to trying it out sometime for date night.

Zoya nail polish

I saved this for last because this is the product I was excited about! It came in the color I wanted and I painted my nails as soon as I had a chance! I love Zoya polish! It takes less coats than other nail polishes and they have great colors!

November

Novembers bag was the usual nail polish, lip crayon, eye liner, bronzer or blush bag. I'll get more into the products on a one product at a time basis.

Be A Bombshell lip crayon.

This lip crayon goes one smooth and has great pigment. I wasn't very excited about the color. I have had a really hard time finding a lip color that I like. So I won't blame Ipsy for this one.

Pixi Beauty Bronzer

I'm not really picky about the bronzer. I have received a few in my glam bags and I haven't really used them up yet. I will just add this one to the collection!

Nailtini nail color.

I like this polish! I actually just tried it on a nail so that I could review it. I am so glad that I did! It is a bronze glitter shimmer color. Great for the holiday season! This bag just got way better!! I am a new Nailtini fan!

TRESemme' hairspray.

This is trial size. I am confused why Ipsy chose this product for the bag. It smells like hairspray. It holds like hairspray. Nothing special. I feel like this is more of a filler product.

Starlooks eye pencil

I have to play around with this one and see what I can do with it. I have never been that into color eye shadow. I usually just go for black. I will get back to you on this one once I get a real chance to find a look. The color is a metallic silver and goes on really smooth. It rubbed off my hand really easily, so it might not last long on. We will see!

EM Michelle Phan

I like to save my favorite product for last. That way I can end on a good note. I was really excited to see a EM Michelle Phan product in my glam bag! After the September bag intro to the product brand I have wanted to try their products. They are a little expensive for me but I really like this balm!

So maybe I was a little harsh at the beginning of this blog. I wasn't excited about the products but after trying them I am happier! Maybe I'll hold on to my subscription a bit longer!

What's That On My Face!

What's that on my face? It's a paper mask!

This month in my IPSY.com glam bag I received these paper masks. I waited till this weekend to try them out so that if I had a reaction I would have the weekend for my face to recover! lol

I tend to have oily skin so I used the Purifying Star Fruit. It is to purify and help control oil. The Blue Agave is for hydration and the Rose is for brighter skin.

So step one is to wash your face with your regular cleanser.

I use Mary Kay Timewise 3 in 1 cleanser for oily to combination skin. I have been using it for two years now and it is the best cleanser I have tried. Like ever.

Step two, unfold the mask and peel paper from the liner and discard. It is very wet and floppy once you remove it from the liner.

Step three, apply to face and smooth out. This thing looks like something from a horror movie! The eye holes are weirdly close together. It does stay on very well till time to remove. It says to keep on for five to ten minutes. I think I left mine on for five.

The last step is to remove the mask and throw away.

Now your first natural response would be to wash your face. Ehh wrong! Don't wash your face! The product will seep into your skin after a few minutes of having the mask off. It is kind of sticky feeling for a while (as you can probably tell in my picture below). So if you plan on doing this, I would do it when you aren't planning on going anywhere for a while. Bed time might be the best option.

I can't really tell you if they work or not. I will tell you, my daughter and I had fun trying it out! Do you have any beauty products that you use on a regular basis? I would love to hear what you use!

Ipsy Glam Bag September

This month's theme was Classic Beauty.

I was excited about this month! The bag was a beautiful blue (my favorite color!) . Here is a picture of the bag and all the items.

I opened it up and the first thing I tried was the lip balm by Cailyn Cosmetics. It comes in a very cool package. The balm is in the bottom and there is a applicator brush in the top. It goes on so smooth! It packs a powerful punch of color with using very little product. It was actually a little surprising for a "balm". Mine was in the Big Apple shade. I'm not sure if it's right for me. But here is a picture for you to see!

I was really happy to get a full size eye liner! It's made by Starlooks and came in the color Obsidian. The name even sounds cool! These are famous for being a great pencil for that smoky eye look. This pencil is goes on smooth because it is creamier than most liners.  I wore it to work today and it didn't smear or even flake off like my normal brand. I love it! Very happy with this!

The mascara was a little bit of a disappointment. I received a mascara last month in my bag and they always seem to come in trial size. This one is Elizabeth Mott, It's So Big Volumizing Mascara. I says to use several layers to get more volume. I only used one layer today because I was going to work. It does define each lash and it didn't flake or wear off throughout the day. Depending on the price I might be willing to buy a full size.

I also received a full size eye shadow. It is by NYX. The shade is called Fantasy. The color is awesome! It is a gold color with a little shimmer.  I will be honest, I would have rather had the grey but I might just hop over and buy it with my 30% code that comes with this months bag!

Last but not least were the Freeman Beauty Facial Paper Mask. There were three different ones. I have not tried these yet. My skin can be temperamental, so I am saving these for the weekend and I will make a separate post on them. I'm including a picture to hold you guys over till then!

As an added bonus they included an actual size card with Michelle Phan The Life Palette. It shows what the palette looks like and even has a mini sample on the bottom. It is a little out of my price range but I did go check it out and maybe if they gave us a coupon I would consider investing it it!

IPSY Glam Bag.

So I don't know if you guys have heard about IPSY.com. If you haven't let me tell you about it now! For 10$ a month you receive a glam bag, a little zipper make-up pouch. When you sign up, they have you answer some questions so they can kind of put products in there that would work for you.

Now you are probably thinking "I bet everything is sample size, right?" NOPE! We will get to all that...

So let me tell you about my first glam bag. It was called Pretty in Pink. The package that came in the mail was a HOT pink padded envelope! I don't know if they all come like that, but it really stood out!

There are a couple of combinations of things you could possibly get. In my bag was "Two Cosmetics" Duo eye shadow:

This is a full size product. One side is a nice pink shimmer. It gives a little light touch of shine. Then the Matte finish goes on smooth and blends really well. I even tried them together and it gave a really fresh look. Great for Spring!

Then the "Sexy Hair" Soy renewal:

Sadly it is just a trial size, but wow! This stuff is AMAZING! First the smell is great! Apparently you can put it in damp hair and it will help your hair dry faster. I haven't tried that yet. I used it on my dry hair to tame frizz and give a little shine. It did what I wanted without making my hair feel weighed down or oily! I love this and since it comes with a coupon code, I will most definitely be buying the full size!

I also received "Sation" nail laquer:

This one was a full size bottle. I got the "love at first byte" color and I wasn't very impressed. It's a pinkish orange. I would have rather had the other option. Three out of four isn't bad. I will use it when I just want something unnoticeable on my nails.

Last but not least was the "Be A Bombshell" Blush:

This was a full size item as well. Mine was "Sweet Cheeks". I loved the color, but mine was broken :(. I guess they are trying to figure out something to do for the people who got theirs broken. I am still waiting to hear back on whether or not I will get a new one. I hope so because I really like this product!

Here is a picture of all my products:

Over all I am pleased with this months bag. I think for 10$ a month this is worth it. You get coupons and more than half the stuff in my bag was full size. So almost one product would be most of the ten dollars if you bought them separate! I already can't wait to get next months bag!
